       An Easter Panorama

My Tim Inspired Easter Panorama

As soon as I saw Tim's tag I knew what I was going to create and for the first time what I envisioned actually came to life exactly the way I wanted it, with a few tweaks here and there!!!  I decided to make this for a little someone special in my life and I am hoping she will love it!  Below are some of photos I was texting to show my progress.

Make some glitter..  Rock Candy, Pink Sherbert Alcohol Ink & Stardust Stickles Dry Glitter.

Spread some Multi Medium Matte on the egg and pour that yummy glitter on....sparkly!

Again spread some MMM and pour that waterfall glitter straight from the jar.

Painted some flowers with Tim's FABULOUS Distress Paints.

Added some Mushroom Alcohol Inked Green Tinsel Twine & hot glue it down like Astro Turf.

Made a body for the bunny with Tim's Bunny Diecut and added a cottontail.

Rolled some Tic Tacs in MMM and
glitter made from Rock Candy & assorted Alcohol Inks.

Added a Woodland Tree sprayed with Fresh Lime and Crushed Olive.

Ornaments Inspired by Tim’s Tags

Today's challenge was inspired by Tim's June and September tag techniques which are found below:

http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2012-september/
I was inspired to make this ornament of Little Bit, my little girl, who recently left this world in October.  I wanted to pay tribute to her memory and make something pretty in her honor to hang on my tree in remembrance of her.  I really like ideology and the foil faux rivet technique and wanted to use it here but give it a softer more feminine look.  I miss her everyday, she was my sweets and she will always be in my heart!  ALWAYS!

This ornament's inspiration came from the most important person in my life, my mom. The photo is from 1942 and she is only 2 years old and her spoiled brat look makes me smile because my mom always says I am so spoiled.  Anyway, I guess back in the 40's the big bows were all the rage! When I saw this photo I thought this is perfect to replicate Tim's June tag.

Reasons I Love You

“Tips On Using UTEE”

Use caution when using the melting pot and utee as the pot and utee become hot when melting the utee.  Keep pets and children away from the area.

Always place the melting pot on a craft sheet on a stable surface and use the proper tools, ie. melting pot spatula, which is now included with the melting pot.

Utee embellishments can be fragile take care not to drop on a hard surface and not to press down hard when gluing pieces to a project.

Using baby wipes on the surface of a utee embellishment will dull its shine you might like that effect, if not, heat the piece with a quick shot all over from the heat it tool & it will become shiny again.  Do not overheat as you can melt the piece or add air bubbles.

Liquid glue like glossy accents will glue a utee embellishment to paper permanently but use it sparingly.  If you use to much glossy, it will dry shiny and the utee piece will slide right off (ask me how I know).  I used a sheet of wonder tape instead cutting it down to the size of the whole embellishment & carefully pressing into place on my layout.

Steps For Creating The Numbers Embellishments (Wendy Vecchi Stamp), Creating Grungeboard Flourishes & Utee Heart:

For the Number EmbellishmentMelt Clear Utee in Melting Pot then ink stamp with Jet Black Archival Ink.   Lay stamp inked side up on craft sheet on your table surface  & CAREFULLY pour  a steady stream of HOT melted utee over stamp covering the image completely.  Allow to cool but when still lukewarm (not hardened completely) peel utee away from stamp & there is your transferred stamp image now ready to use an embellishment.

For the Flourish Embellsihment:   Paint thick coat of Scribbles Fabric paint on grungeboard in Black then spread Clear Utee allowed to dry then heat set for a shiny bubbly look.

For The Heart Embellishment Heart was made with Clear Utee added Heat It Ink in Garnet and a little sprinkle of White, Gold, & Black Utee.  Allow to melt in Clear Utee then w/ Utee spatula gently make a swirl in pot (caution do not over swirl or it will mix & you will not get a marbleized effect).  Pour in a heart cookie cutter on craft sheet about ¼ inch high allow to cool & pop out.

Big Inky Tag For Will!

Today's Post is all about creating a HUGE tag made from Distress Inks.  Will, who is one of our dear Ranger team members had a stroke a few weeks back and has been fighting the good fight to recover.  He has alot to fight for, he is young, only in his mid thirties and is married with two wonderful children and he creates ink in the ink department at Ranger.  So we have been sending him cards and posters so I decided after watching Tim's Creative Chemistry Class http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/timholtz/class-info/ to make him a huge inked up tag.  I figure who better to give an inky tag card too, right!  So we all signed it and I just need to add a few finishing touches like a ribbon and a washer around the punched hole opening to make it look legit!  Maybe a little Perfect Pearl Mist to add a little shimmer!  Everything is better with some bling, don't ya think?  So now that he can finally have visitors I plan on going to see him this weekend to deliver his card, hope to put a smile on his face 'cause it stinks to be in the hospital especially during the holidays!  Well here's hoping your weekend is filled with lots of smiles and fun with family and friends! :)

Ranger's Easter Egg Designer Challenge! Day 2

Terry's Tissue Tape Egg

Hi everyone, so here is my 1st ever blog post .....very exciting!!!  So at Ranger we are fortunate to be asked to participate in our designer challenges.  So being the Ranger team player that I am, I said yes, of course!!!  :)

So for my egg I went for a cottage/shabby chic look.   I used a styrofoam egg and wrapped it all around with Tim's Symphony Tissue Tape.  I made sure to smoothe it down as I went then I rubbed Antique Linen Distress Stain all over the entire egg, let it dry, and gave it a nice coat of Glue N' Seal Matte .

For the flowers I used our Manila Paper & diecut flower shapes, embossed some, used shredding scissors to make another, & for the others I laid tissue tape on the manila before diecutting.  All were layered together then inserted into the styrofoam egg with a pearl straight pin in the middle to adhere them all in place.  As a final almost sugary touch I added some Distress Stickles in Rock Candy for a subtle shimmer of sparkle!

Easter's on it's way what are your plans for your Easter eggs?  Hope you enjoyed mine!!!  I also included a picture of how I display my eggs in my office.  They are much cuter when paired with a bunny, a chick, & a poinsetta that won't die! Don't ya think?!!!
